About Us
Hello! Lucie's Lambs is a small family run partnership, producing high end quality lamb boxes. We pride ourselves on our animal welfare and our attention to detail to produce a high quality lamb box to put straight in your oven or freezer! We rear pedigree Romney sheep, which are our local native breed, purely off grass to make a beautifully marbled carcass. We are now able to ship our boxes nationwide and no order is too small!
Meet the partners:
Lucie
Growing up in South London, I have always loved the outdoors, from walking the dogs and riding horses. When we moved to Kent in 2005, farming wasn't on the agenda but playing with friends on farms ignited the spark. While at school, my favourite lessons and clubs were anything to do with food and cooking and I soon wanted to know where my ingredients came from. I went to Hadlow College for sixth form where I studied a City and Guilds Extended Diploma in Agriculture and instantly knew agriculture was where I belonged. Whilst studying my diploma I did a lot of work experience on a variety of farms, but my real passion was sheep. I was also lucky enough to go to New York State, USA to a grass fed beef farm, this opened my eyes to completely grass fed meat, something that was only just starting to grow traction in the UK.
After college I attended The Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester where I studied Applied Farm Management, after placement in 2nd year I began to wonder what to do next, with no farm to return home to. After a lot of research, I decided I really wanted to have my own flock of sheep, but it would have to be reared off grass and hardy enough to lamb outside, as we have no buildings on our small holding.
In 2017, 10 pedigree New Zealand Romneys were purchased for my 20th birthday, the first year was a steep learning curve but they survived so we decided to breed from them, they say the rest is history as we now have 21 ewes with 6 ewe lambs ready to join the flock in 2023!
Roger
Roger is Lucie's dad and provides support in a number of ways! Whilst Roger is a journalist by trade, he loves to be outside, whether that is gardening, walking the dogs or whatever needs mending for Lucie's Lambs!
Scout
We couldn't not mention our little side kick, always helping us gather up the sheep and providing us with smiles. Scout is 3 and is a vital asset to the business. Not only does she help get the sheep in for any routine job but she always provides plenty of company too. You'll find her on her bed in our shed on pop-up shop days too!
